            Nyagwai  (pronounced Nugway)  is 78lbs. and 23 inches tall.  She is a wonderful companion to the entire family as well as a fantastic hunting dog.

Nyagwai completed her CD (Companion Dog) title with a score of 188 and a 2^nd  place out of 15 dogs on May 6, 1995 at the Beaver Valley Training Club in Freedom ,Pa.  Her first two legs were earned August 4 and 5, 1994 in Canfield, Ohio at Fort Steuben Kennel Assoc. and Columbiana County Kennel Club trials with scores of 188.5 and 4^th place and 190.5 and 2^nd place.

She has earned her SR (Started Retriever) title with four consecutive qualifications through the NORTH AMERICAN HUNTER RETRIEVER ASSOCIATION (NAHRA).  Her first two qualifications were on Aug. 5 and 6,1995 at the Southwestern Pa. Hunting Retriever Club in Grove City, Pa.  The other two qualifications were earned the following weekend at the Presque Isle Retriever Club in Erie, Pa.  She has also been awarded the Started Brass Band Award for completing the required amount of  Started events during the 1995 calendar year. 

            She has given demonstrations at area grade schools where she is a big hit.  Eastern Mountain Store at the Millcreek Mall in Ere,Pa. has requested her to give demonstrations.   She was there the spring of 97 , the fall of 97, the spring of 98 and the fall of 98 .  The customers enjoy her and find out information on taking a dog along camping, hiking, canoeing, and the importance of obedience.   She also demonstrated retrieving at the annual Discover Presque Isle Days in Erie, Pa. at Presque Isle State Park and the annual Pymatuning Waterfowl Expo  in Linesville, Pa. for the past several years.

            The summer of 1997 she earned her Canine Good Citizen Certificate (CGC) from AKC.

            She has earned her WR (Working Retriever) title through NAHRA .  She earned her first intermediate qualification at the Western New York Retriever club on June 21,1997.  Her second was at the Presque Isle Retriever club on August 10,1997.   The third was at the Ohio Hunting Retriever Association on Oct 5,1997. The fourth was at the Leatherstocking Hunting Retriever Association in New York on June 6, 1998. 

            She has earned her SH (Senior Hunter) Title in AKC.  She earned her first qualification at the Western New York Retriever Club in July of 1999 under judges Sally Koepke and Roger Horvath.  Her second at the Greater Pittsburgh Golden Retriever Club on 9/11/99 under judges Warren Price and Peter Kaufman.  The third at the Greater Pittsburgh Golden Retriever Club on 5/7/2000 under judges Margaret Burlett and Todd Kolenic.  Her fourth at the American Chesapeake Club  licensed hunt test in Western New York on Sat 7/29/2000 under judges Jan McKee and Daniel Ramsey.  On Sun 7/30/2000 she finished her SH at the American Chesapeake Club licensed hunt test in Western New York under judges Dennis Scofield and Peter Kaufman.

            Her photograph is in the new American Chesapeake Club book (hunting chapter) which is available as of  the fall of  97. 

            WDX is the Working Dog Excellent Title given by the American Chesapeake Club.  She received this in 1999.

Nyagwai and I, over all the years of  hunting and training, have become a team.  She is my hunting partner and my companion.  We go out hunting during duck season usually a couple times a week at least.  We also go out pheasant hunting too.   In the off season we will be continuing to run in the upper level hunt tests.  It is a great way to keep her in top condition for hunting season. I have enjoyed training and handling her and I am looking forward to our continuing success !
