    Hi Well on Sept 25 my Presque Isle Retriever Club held it's annual club's singles Championship. Normally in hunt tests you do not compete against each other but in this you do. The judges are looking for the best dog over all. It consists of all single marks and distance / difficulty is not limited. Well we had a nice turn out and after 4 series the judges did call backs. Total of six were called back and 4 of the six were Chesapeake Bay Retrievers!!!  Two belonged to Jim Hitt (Wally and Allie) of WNY and two were mine, Nyagwai and Drake. Now I was handling Nyagwai and my son Anthony (12 years old) was handling Drake (2 yrs old). The marks are out to 200 yards and another call back. It is left to Anthony and Drake and two labs both are Grand Master Hunters in NAHRA. Well they did several more series and the final one was about 200 yards out in water. There was a peninsula jutting out from the left about 100 yards out and two peninsulas jutting in from the right. The bird was thrown against the far bank 200 yards out with it landing inline with the point of land from the left peninsula. They also had a bird boy sitting on this left point as though he was a thrower. The real bird boys were on the back bank kind of hidden. Well Anthony pulled the short straw and ran first with Drake. Well he set a high standard for the GMHR to follow. Drake went right down the center edged towards the left point to use the running water but totally ignored the fake bird boy, went to the bird 200 yards away without hunting and brought it back. Beautiful. Both GMHR were immediately sucked to the fake bird boy and hunted on that point eventually they went back but still hunted around before finding the bird.  The judges made their decision and announced that it wasn't just one mark but the accomplishments of all day that made the decision for them and it has to go to the Chesapeake!  Well was I proud!  Anthony and Drake had done it.
    SR Concordcreek Drake So Wak WD (CH Chesany's Sumerduck Tomahawk JH X WR Ota Yo Nih Nyagwai Nugatina SH CD CGC WDX ) Anthony received a wonderful trophy plus I get to keep the traveling trophy for another year!
    Last year SR Concordcreek Dawe do Ji Yah CD CGC WDQ ( DC AFC Gambler's Dilwyn Stacked Deck JH X WR Ota Yo Nih Nyagwai Nugatina SH CD CGC WDX) won it and this year she came in season so she could not run.
